I know that I haven't got much of a chance, but with the advent of the internet age, who knows. I lost a black coloured notebook that I was using as a travel journal when I was in my early 20s. A buddy and I took a trip by train from Vancouver to New Orleans via LA. We were off to visit a university pal who lived in Louisiana and I ended up staying in the southern states for 6 months. We made our way to Florida to warm up by camping in the Florida Keys, met up with some other young folks, and, over the course of the next several months, bounced back and forth between Florida, New Orleans, Detroit (mental setback, I assume), and Baltimore. I kept the journal up to date every day with my adventures. My buddy went back to Canada a month before I did - I had to return a 1964 Impala SS that a young lady had let me use. I ended up hitch-hiking back home to Vancouver from West Palm Beach, Florida. Lots more fun and spine-tingling adventure on that leg of the trip. While standing along a stretch of the Trans-Canada, with $6 to my name, a loaf of bread, some peanut butter, and some salted nuts, just fresh from a weird weekend at the Petrolia Fiddle Festival - I was putting my latest entry into the journal. A truck driver pulled off the side of the road to give me a ride. In my haste, the notebook fell out of my backpack onto the side of the road, unless it was lost somewhere in the truck. Anyone find it? I'd love to get it back. By the way, this was sometime in late June, 1979.
